About the Team
Combat Robotics at Berkeley (CRB) began with a singular obsession: creating a BattleBot. Through countless design iterations, late nights working on CAD, and backbreaking machining to finish our 250lb BattleBot, Glitch, CRB has evolved into so much more. It’s an incredible way to develop hands-on engineering, marketing, and business skills, an outlet for channeling competitive nature into robotic optimization, and a tight-knit community of friends.
While Glitch remains a source of pride, we are equally excited about our smaller projects, particularly our 15lb and 1lb robots. These weight classes provide new members with invaluable opportunities to design, build, and compete in combat robotics from the ground up. The 15lb and 1lb teams serve as the perfect entry point for honing engineering skills and gaining practical experience.
In just one year, CRB has grown significantly. Competing and connecting with the professional engineers we've admired on BattleBots has been awe-inspiring. We’re thrilled to see our new member teams develop their 15lb and 1lb robots and hope to inspire more students to get involved in robotics.
Combat Robotics at Berkeley is a sponsored organization under the ASUC, UC Berkeley’s student association, and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. CRB is entirely student-run, with over forty undergraduate students split into four projects and four technical and non-technical subteams.
Join us in pushing the boundaries of engineering and robotics, whether you’re working on a 250lb BattleBot, a 15lb bot, or a 1lb antweight. At CRB, there’s a place for every aspiring roboticist.
Glitch
We’re excited to show our BattleBot, Glitch! Glitch is jam-packed with features to provide stunning and destructive matches, as well as make it stand out in the ring.
